Yakima Valley Community Foundation (YVCF) is proud to announce 28 organizations serving Yakima County have been selected to receive grants ranging from $20,000 to $75,000 each. These grants are funded by Washington State Department of Commerce’s Community Reinvestment Plan (CRP), a $200 million appropriation by the WA State Legislature focused on investing in communities disproportionately harmed by the historical design and enforcement of state and federal criminal laws and penalties for drug possession. CRP funds in Yakima County will focus on creating lasting economic benefits, building wealth, and ensuring a fair chance at success.

Investing in Key Areas
CRP allocates funding across multiple strategic areas, including:

  • Asset Building
  • Community Healing
  • Matched Savings
  • Technical Assistance (Capacity Building)
  • Violence Prevention

In addition, the Plan includes the establishment of Local Advisory Teams to direct the selection of grantees within their communities who will receive grants within each one of the key areas above.

Community Leadership through the Yakima County Local Advisory Team (LAT)
A cornerstone of the project is the Yakima County Local Advisory Team, comprised of 10 community members from across the Valley who are dedicated to ensuring the effective administration of CRP funds. The Yakima LAT will serve from January 2025 to June 2025. This structure provides a way for community members to take an active role in advocating for and providing resources to their own communities.

To facilitate successful implementation, YVCF provides staff support and compensation to community members who are leading the program. Yakima Valley Community Foundation remains committed to ensuring CRP funds provide immediate support but also help build a foundation for sustainable growth and empowerment in our community.

Selected Organizations as of 2/25/25:

You will see that some organizations were funded under two different categories, specifically under technical assistance. These dollars support the work needed for these organizations to steward these funds.
